2021 COVID-19 Update (March 10th, 2021): As some of you might have seen the COVID-Dial continues to move in the right direction. Jefferson and Broomfield Counties recently moved to level blue, and the state enters Vaccine Phase 1B.3 for ages 60+ this Friday. Larimer County (XTERRA Lory) and Boulder County (Colorado Tri) "should" still safely enter level green (500 event limit) by the end of May. We use "should" in quotes, as our goal continues to stay on the side of caution, giving each event the best possible chance to move forward. That being said, we're placing a 250 athlete cap (level blue) on ALL June events. Our new registration provider (TriReg) has a waitlist feature, so assuming we hit level green then you'll be rolled into the event without any additional sign-up needed. Don't delay, XTERRA Lory and Colorado Triathlon only have about 20-30 spots before we hit that 250 "hopefully temporary" athlete cap. Please spread the word as not all athletes are on Facebook.
XTERRA Lory Triathlon on June 12th is the perfect kick-off to the year for the seasoned off-road triathlete, or a great opportunity for the road triathlete wanting to try out a mountain bike triathlon for the first time.
The XTERRA Lory Triathlon features a 1/2 mile swim in the clear waters of Horsetooth Reservoir (Eltuk Bay), it's one of the most scenic swims in the state with canyon walls on both sides. Then it's on to a 2-Lap (beginner friendly) 12.2 mile single-track bike over rolling terrain, and across valley bridges at Lory State Park. Then you'll get to finish things off with a fun and challenging 4.8 mile (8k) run through the clouds on single-track trails! This is the perfect off-road triathlon for beginners to experts. The course is designed so that anyone can have fun and everyone will be challenged! Entries will be limited to 350 participants, and we sold out 2011-2018 in early April!
BACK FOR 2021: Stand Up Paddleboard Option instead of the 1/2 mile swim (you must bring your own SUP)!
