Sunday 20th, 2020 - CANCELLED
Dear Oktoberfest Triathletes,
This isn’t the first tough news we’ve had to share as many of you know - but it may be the toughest yet, as the doors have officially closed on our triathlon season. A few weeks ago, we all experienced the joy of resuming our Thursday night Stroke & Strides, which offered a glimmer of hope for our final two September triathlons. Unfortunately, Stroke & Stride was only able to resume under Phase II “Safer at Home”, and for the Oktoberfest Triathlon to safely take place, we needed Boulder County to apply for Phase III “Protect our Neighbors”. At this current time, Boulder County still does not qualify to apply for Phase III.
Since early March, your never-ending support drove our team as we worked alongside all permitting and health departments for solutions and options. I’m sorry the outcome wasn’t what we all hoped for or ever could have imagined six months ago, but our work doesn’t stop here. We’ll continue to deliver three more safe and responsible Stroke & Stride events (August 13th, 20th, and 27th), while also getting an early start to make 2021 the most special season yet. What happens to all those positive emails and social media posts we’ve received from athletes and sponsors? We save them and will use them as fuel to keep our creative drive and passion going during the upcoming winter months. Don’t lose hope, not ever, that a brighter future awaits us.
All registered athletes for the Oktoberfest Triathlon will be receiving a special instruction e-mail.
Lance and the Entire Without Limits A-Team
The annual Oktoberfest Triathlon on September 20th, 2020, is the party of the season and also a 2020 Mountain Collegiate Conference Race! As the leaves change color this race will officially end the Colorado Triathlon Season! It's been a long fun season but before the snow begins to fall let's get one more triathlon celebration in.
The Oktoberfest Triathlon is about friends and teammates, smiling and cheering. Men's or woman's cut technical t-shirts are back. Great goodie bags, one of our biggest expos of the year, a ton of raffles, and a closed race course are just some of the highlights. This race is capped at 600 athletes to maintain a fun, yet lively, and laid back feel. Due to the low cap we've sold out the past 10 years so be be sure to take advantage of early registration. Every year we pick a different Lander (province) in Germany as a theme for the event t-shirts! 2018 theme was Sachsen-Anhalt (Green), 2019 was Brandenburg (Red), and 2020 will be Hessen!
