stagecoach gravel TRIATHLON

SPRINT  I AQUABIKE  I  STAND-UP PADDLE-BOARD

AUGUST 4th, 2024

DIRECTIONS TO THE STAGECOACH GRAVEL TRIATHLON

From Steamboat Springs:  Travel east on U.S. 40 (Towards Rabbit Ears Pass), then take a right on Highway 131 (heading south), turn left on CR 14.  Do not take the main entrance into Stagecoach Reservoir, but continue on CR 14 towards CR 16. Take a left on CR 16 and follow until you see signs for parking at CR 18a.  You'll take a left on CR18a, which is a dirt road, and follow our parking staff in bright color vests accordingly.

PARKING: New parking this year.  Follow directional signage to transition and we'll have a parking crew guiding you in.  This season you'll be parked near transition along the side of the entry road.  We repeat: there is no gear DROP-OFF by the transition area as everything is super close.

CAMPING: One thing that makes this event so special is the abundance of camping options at Stagecoach Reservoir.  You can hang out around the camp fire with your fellow athletes, then wake up just on the far side of the lake, and ride your bike to the transition area race morning (a 10min drive or 20min bike ride).  It really doesn't get much better than that.  Space is limited, and reservations are done directly through the state park system (system opens for reservations 180 days out from your targeted date)

SPECTATORS: It is highly recommended that spectators arrive with the athlete on race day, or prior to 7:30am.  Please note that if you arrive after 8:00am athletes will be racing on the roads around the spectator parking area.  Not only does this cause extra congestion on course for the athletes, but will also delay your expected arrival time.
