Colorado Triathlon Tour 2012
Age-Group Ranking System
2012 is your year to; travel the state, race your heart out, and compete among your fellow age-groupers for the top spot on the Colorado Triathlon Tour Rankings! The Colorado Triathlon Tour is a true test of your overall triathlon ability as each venue caters to a different set of strengths and skills! Union Reservoir will favor the speedy flat landers, Aurora Reservoir will challenge with deceptive rollers on the bike course, and each Steamboat course (Lake Catamount and Steamboat Lake) will cater to the all-around triathlete! To be ranked you simply need to compete in any 2 events! If you compete in all 5 events we'll score your top 4 point totals. We'll be posting an up to date ranking after each event that goes 30 deep in each age-group! Tour awards will go 3 deep in each age-group, but we'll be ranking athletes 30 deep!
HERE'S HOW IT WORKS
5 Events: Summer OPEN Sprint, Steamboat Lake Sprint, Steamboat Olympic, Harvest Moon Half, and the Sept 25th Oktoberfest Sprint Championship
You only need to compete in 2 events to be counted in the 2012 Colorado Triathlon Tour Rankings
Athletes who compete in all 5 events will have their highest 4 point totals used in the final ranking
- The Summer OPEN Sprint and Steamboat Lake Sprint will be scored 30 deep in each age-group [Points: 1st place 30 points, 2nd 29 points, 3rd 28 points, 4th place 27 points etc. etc.]
- Steamboat Olympic will be scored 30 deep in each age-group [Points will start at 33 for first and go down to 3 points for 30th]
- The Harvest Moon Half and Oktoberfest Sprint Championship will be scored 30 deep in each age-group [Points will start at 35 for first and go down to 5 points for 30th]
After the Oktoberfest we'll add together your highest 4 point totals for your final 2012 Colorado Triathlon Tour Ranking! In Case of a tie in the top 3 we'll a) revert back to the Oktoberfest results b) If neither athlete competed at Oktoberfest then we'll find a race where both athletes competed starting with HM, then Steamboat Olympic and so on throughout the season c) If neither tied athlete raced Oktoberfest nor raced each other during the season then we'll go to your fasest run pace for any event in the tour.
Well be posting current age-group rankings following each event so you can see how you rank, check out the competition, and stay motivated for that next event!
Shortly following the Oktoberfest Championship we'll be announcing the Colorado Tri Tour Champions in each age-group (3-deep) and we'll mail out your Colorado Triathlon Tour Award! What are the awards? We'll announce them before the Summer OPEN, but like any Without Limits race we promise that it will be creative, functional, and personalized to highlight your season of success!
